I'm on my way to congressman's office early Monday with a Congressional
Complaint and will request relief via a reopening and reevaluation of
selections any other suggestions?
Any Relief in the CFR for this type of screw up?
Its bad enough we lose our retirements under Concurrent Receipt but now we
can't even get rights under Federal law to employment if eligible or even
compete??

Yeah, I got the same thing. What a surprise, huh? It's just business as
usual for the beltway guys. They will take care of their own.
I work with a bunch of Navy retirees. On a whim 4 of them initiated inquiries
back in November. 2 got the aforementioned cards but no other contact. I heard
on a newsbroadcast after briefly seeing it scroll across the bottom of the
screen about Pearson. Did a search and found they were conducting Job Fairs in
Chicago, Atlanta and Los Angeles. This was the day before the first one in
Chicago so I e-mailed them and was told a resume could be sent and it would be
reviewed AFTER the Job Fairs and if positions were still open. Yes, it is
another scam. I think a more approporiate term is "Jobs Program". It had every
appearance of turning into that as ammendment upon ammedment was added to the
original bill. It was NEVER about security or safety. It was always about the
govt creating more jobs for otherwise unemployable misfits.
Are you going to file a Congressional complaint? We need to or it will be
business as usual
Ther is a trend that has continued from the Clinton Administration to
ignore Veterans preference in hiring, by some segments of the federal
government. Who is responsible? Is it some holdover or holdovers in mid
level management? I haven't got a clue.
I can't disagree with your analysis but I think the issue is that we were
lied to (imagine that, vets being lied to by the govt). We applied to DOT
via phone, mail and e-mail. They responded by telling us we would be sent a
package. To me this implies we would be contacted in some form. We weren't
contacted or notified and someone needs to rectify it. If DOT won't respond
as it said, make a bunch of congressmen respond instead. Tit for tat.
Prepare 5 letters from 5 people, invest the couple bucks in stamps and make
them respond. I had to waste my time for them, so...
