A large company in the Seattle area is in need of a general construction inspector.
The following is a description of duties and requirements for this position.?
The incumbent will perform a broad cross-section of technical and administrative
activities, which involve experience and special-ization in Quality Control and
Quality Assurance inspection of construction work and contractor conformance
to document requirements.? Working knowledge of applicable codes, standards and
specifications, to be able to monitor construction activities to ensure compliance
with the contract documents. Evaluates and reviews all special inspections required
by the Authority having Jurisdiction including but not limited to: civil
and structural tests such as soil compac-tion, moisture content, aggregate, gradation,
concrete slump, air entrainment, concrete compression tests, lines and
grades surveys, bolt torque test, structural steel, and concrete coring.? Field
checks placement location of reinforcing steel and embeds before placement of concrete.?
Monitors electrical, mechanical and plumbing installations to assure compliance
with construction document requirements. Performs continuing inspection
of painting and insulation to ensure thickness and cover continuity.? Provides
general inspection on finish trades work (e.g. gypsum drywall installations, flooring,
etc.) to assure quality and workmanlike end products.? Evaluates adequacy
of Contractor Quality Control (CQC) programs.? Monitors contractors' compliance
with approved Quality Control Plan.? Responsible for daily reports to the Resident
Engineer.? Responsible for coordination of shutdowns and other work requiring
coordination with Port of Seattle staff and/or tenants and airlines.? Responsible
for coordinating and resolving any night time construction impacts to other
POS departments and/or tenants.? Works with other POS departments to insure non-disruptive
and save working environment for other POS employees, te ICBO and WABO
certified
