As you may or may not know, if you try to fake in construction management
the contractors eat you alive, the jobs goes over budget and the owner
shoots you....if you are top notch you can always find good work.. 5 years
experience for some is OK in a narrow area, say tract homes...for high rises
etc...10 or 20 years is a minimum...for industrial specialties that much or
more experience.... if you have over 30 years experience I found its best to
keep quiet about it...claim the years you have in the clients particular
project area.
You can do a jobs wage search on Yahoo and find management positions in
facilites paying 200,000 dollars a year...lots of them. Its my view that
one doesnt get hired for those, they are insider union tenure positions, I
work with a lot of those guys, brilliance is seldom a characteristic...do go
figure.. You could come in with vastly better qualifications and not get
that pay...but you very well might get 100k.
