URU: How to remove hardhat?

Question:
I was in an open room (no roof) where there are lots of books about kings and such. I click on a hard hat that was on a table and now my avitar is wearing it. I can't seem to remove it now. I know this next sentence is really out of place for a Myst type game. But, the hat doesn't match my avitar's outfit! I don't want the hardhat anymore.

Any info will be appreciated.

Answer:
I have the reverse problem in To D'ni. At the end of URU, Yeesha gives me a dorky-looking outfit with a hand symbol on it. Having got rid of it at the first chance as I don't want my charcter to look like a jerk, I have found out there is a big easter egg at the end of TD, but I have to wear this stupid outfit to access it. How do I get it back?

Go to your wardrobe at Relto and take it off by chosing the face option. Pick your face without a hat and exit the wardrobe. The hardhat will stay in the closet and you can wear it later when you get a matching outfit.

Actually, it was the hair options, not the face options. BTW, I found a nice and very colorful shirt in another age that was very challenging to get to. I won't spoil it by saying where. :)

TEASE! I want more info! Was it in a place where you'd logically find a shirt lying around? Or is it hiding behind a pile of rocks? At least mention which age it's in. :P

Personally, I'm hoping some industrious hackers are hard at work trying to find the texture and bump maps for the clothing so players can start adding their own clothing, even if it's only T-Shirts with custom designs. But imagine the possibilities... wandering around the ages in a parka, or an Edwardian suit with cloak, or stormtrooper armor... (Of course, then there will also be people who will end up creating a Nude Raider patch as well...)

After I downloaded the first expansion pack, I looked through the "closet" and quickly switched into khaki pants, leather jacket and fedora-like hat. (Seemed apropriate since we now have to jump in order to get through levels.)

I was very pleased to see that the colored hard hats could not only be picked up in a level, but also saved in the closet afterwards.
