Doc Marten Work Boot?

Question:
I'm looking for reviews of work boots. I work at a place that has a pretty lenient dress code, and I wear my Doc Martens boots every day. I've pretty much worn out my two pairs of Docs, and they have pretty much worn out my feet. From the day I bought the Docs, my feet have been abused by the boots because have no padding and they just don't fit my feet correctly. So, I'm looking for an alternative.

Answer:
I wear jean shorts to work every day (it's a lax office setting), and am looking for a pair of boots that can be worn with jeans shorts and white cotton socks. I don't want them to look like hiking boots, but I also don't want them to look too industrial. Steel toes are not required. I've looked into Red Wings and Sketchers, but don't know much about either.

Anyone in the same situation? I'm looking for a pair of boots that I can walk in for about 6 hours a day, don't look too industrial, can be worn to work, are not hiking boots, and won't kill my feet. Would prefer a response here instead of email.

BTW, I don't dislike the Docs. They are really comfy for a couple of hours. But, when 5:00pm hits, I can barely stand as they rape my feet I've used nd Red Wing for my steel-toe boot and Rockport for my steel-toe shoe requirements. Both have excellent padding and cushioning so that if you're on your feet for hours at a time, you're not dying by the end of a shift. The price (for both), although a lot more expensive than many other workboots and work shoes, are well-worth the major expenditures. You'll /feel/ the difference after that first shift! Same with Rockport; you'll be happy that you purchased them.
