Question:
Anybody have
any ideas or suggestions where I can get a decent pair of boots or a
manufacturer of good boots for a reasonable price before I have to shell out
$200 to Red Wing
Answer:
Right now I'm wearing a pair of Wolverine boots purchased in 1994. I don't
subject them to heavy work conditions, like construction but I do wear them
often. They are the most comfortable pair of boots I've ever had. They
weren't exactly cheap ($110 at Pennys) but they have at least another year
of wear left. That would be $9.17 per boot per year, pretty good eh?
I just retired my Herman Survivors after 20+ years. I bought
a pair of Wolverine steel toe, 8" high, waterproof workboots.
They were on a one-day sale at Sears, half price. I paid
about $55. They are surprisingly comfortable; no real break-in.
I've worn them riding thru the end of the cold weather, and they
are warm too. They are a light color leather, and the shift mark
on the left boot is quite obvious. However, I bought them for
functionality, so appearance does not bother me too much.
