Slip Resistant Work Boot, *Slip Resistant Shoes for Work*

Question:
I don't recall seeing a post like this before, and I am having a hard time finding cute slip-resistant shoes for work. I work in a resturant with heavily waxed hardwood floors and are constantly on my feet. Good comfortable, reliable and slip resistant shoes that look nice are hard to come by. Also, to make matters even worse, they have to be closed heel and toe. A high heel is fine, but dressy is what I need. I have bought many pairs of closed heel and toe comfortable shoes but find myself slipping all day long. Does anyone know of any good place to find shoes in this way? Or any good brands? Not much more then 50$ please.. Also, I have heard something about things you can put on the bottom of your shoes to make them so they are slip-resistant. Anyone else know more about this or know where I can find such a thing? I am having the most difficult time with this.

Answer:
the last time I was in a shoer repair shop, they seemed to have some Vibram (used to make hiking boots slip resistant on wet rocks) replacement soles for mens' and womens' dress shoes....maybe you can check with a repair shop...

I have had luck using those sticky decals that you put on the bottom of the bath tub to prevent slipping. They come in packs and usually in flower shapes (or some other shape). I just cut a hunk that will fit the shape of the toe/ball portion of my shoes and stick it there.

Cheaper than what you can get at shoe stores or repair shops, and seems to work just as well.

What about Aerosoles? They have some pretty dressy styles and (I think) most of the shoes have rubbery soles. My personal fave shoes are Doc Martens but that might not be dressy enough for what you need. Aerosoles look more like "normal" shoes. The price is also reasonable (I think most of the styles are around $40 - $75, IIRC).
