Question:
Looking ahead, as I write this in my office, I just don't see the Sabres
winning ANY games in the finals.
Answer:
My seats were in 205, row E. Bengt was my favorite player. Haworth was
underrated. And YES, I remember the guy with the boots. However, my
favorite memory, one that still lingers in my nose, is the incredible
freshly popped corn at the entrance to section 205. Remember that guy with
the newspaper article on his popcorn stand? Is he at the phone booth?
By the way, since Lord Stanley was a diplomat,(Governor General of Canada)
don't you think he's up there hoping the U.S. capital team to win his cup??
That way at least Canadian diplomats can go to the parade.
LET'S GO CAPS!!!!!!!!!!! BRING LORD STANLEY'S CUP TO THE
CAPITAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
have tears welling up. I will now make a speech......
I must admit that my interest in the Caps this year started to fade a bit.
(Egads Blasphemous) Since the MCI is now such a pain in the ass to get too I
was not able to attend the number of games that I would have liked. I am a
very long time fan. I remember the old days with Bengt, Duchesne, Haworth,
Christian, etc.... Heck I used to have season tickets in sec 104 row D. I
remember sec 101. This was sort of a temporary section. It was like
bleachers. This was where all the Caps fanatics would sit. There was a guy
that was always in that section. Everyone called him boots. He would wear
steel toe work boots and stomp "Let's go Caps" for like the whole damn game.
Anyone remember that guy?
Well anyways I am glad for this run and even though the MCI is such a pain I
will try to go to more games next season.
