Steel Toe Work Boot,Warm steel toe work shoes?

Question:
I am looking for steel toe work shoes that are waterproof and warm. (25 degrees weather) The steel toe shoes I have found don't seem to be lined and don't say anything about being waterproof. I found some great looking hunting shoes which are waterproof and warm, but they are not steel toed.

Anyone have luck finding warm steel toe shoes?

Answer:
These are insulated, steel toe work boots. I am sure you can have them waterproofed if they aren't already.

Do they need to be steel? Iron Age (I believe, if not them then redwing) sells a plastic-toe that meets the same spec, and isn't cold in the winter.

If you're looking to pass the OSHA or whoever specs, I'd say go for the plastic (fiberglass shell?) toes instead. Much less heat transfer through the protective caps that way.

Getting colder out there, is it? When I'm gonna be outside in the cold and wet, I do it differently. I put on a pair of socks, then a bread wrapper on each foot, then a second pair of socks. My feet stay dry, and if water gets in the shoes, it doesn't matter. And I dry the shoes in my oven, with its pilot light being sufficient. And a cup over the oven control.

You refer to shoes. Would boots do? I use snow-mobile boots, some have steel toes, can't be any warmer and still be protected.

Last job I had where I needed steel toe shoes, When I first got the job (ink factory) I started shopping and could not find a pair that fit me to save my ass. I went to every store I could find, and there are plenty hereabouts, and every pair hurt my feet. I finally found a pair of Georgia boots that were NOT steel toe, but were definitely work shoes and looked like work boots, that fit pretty darned well. I wound up buying 3 pairs over time and even changed the color of one pair from brown to black. I still have all and use frequently. Guess I'm a tough fit (wide feet). The steel toe shoes, no matter what I put on, always hurt in the toe-fore foot area. I mean HURT! It's better to have a comfortable pair of shoes. However, I had to be EXTRA careful not to drop something on my feet, of course!! I managed to not do that.
