But these numbers merely represent where we are. You should see where we plan to go. We have an excellent opportunity for a Urban Design Principal in our Columbia, MD office. The candidate would be responsible for marketing, developing and maintaining extensive client contacts and should have extensive experience managing multiple, med. to large-scale urban design projects and have detailed knowledge of downtown master planning, town planning, urban/neighborhood revitalization, site design and implementation. Other areas of focus include: + visioning/strategic ssessments/report cards, +downtown revitalization/economic development, +waterfronts/brownfields redevelopment, +streetscape and urban parks – design and implementation, +neighborhood conservation, +design and development guidelines +marketing/communication. The candidate should possess exemplary skills with all aspects of urban design work including: town planning; economic development strategies; infrastructure considerations; urban realm initiatives; and zoning and subdivision regulations. Public presentation and facilitation, graphic and written communication skills are a must. + coordinate all work efforts among project team members, subconsultants and other disciplines as necessary + manage client budgets, schedules and programs + manage project communication and documentation + manage administrative tasks related to the project including project team assignments and scheduling + understands and assists with all aspects of the profession within the office, including business development initiatives, project management, technical applications and design applications +coordinates among leadership within the office and the company on a regular basis + leads special assignments on behalf of the office/division + serves as client service leader for assigned market area or project manager for key clients and larger assignments +coordinates with group director and office leadership on strategic issues and achievement of business performance goals + review work of other project team members for accuracy and completeness + estimate fees, determine work scope and prepare proposals and contracts + monitors design and technical continuity throughout projects Masters degree in Landscape Architecture/Urban & Regional Planning, City Planning or other related master's degree, plus 15 years of experience
