These things are driving me nuts! I can't keep them tied. Am I the only one
who hates round boot laces? I am going to use them for something else
(replacement sweatpants waist strings?) and get me some flat laces!

You are not the only one ... testing a pair of trail shoes at the
moment for BackpackGearTest.org and they have round laces. Biggest
pain in the butt ....
Try this knot I use it all the time, I was having always retying my
boot laces but since I found this knot I do my laces up once a day.
I've never had trouble keeping round laces tied. However, I have seen
numerous ads in catalogs for the things that help secure laces. They're
spring loaded little gizmos.....
I've tried the double knot with my work boots which came with round laces.
Never worked. If the knot didn't come undone, then the laces would jump off
the fast lace hooks (think that's what they're called). I saved myself the
aggravation and just swapped them out with flat laces.
Yeah, I'm a newbie to this....does everyone else just automatically pick up
the perfect pair of boots the first time and never have any problems? Oh
well, our family motto is "We never do anything the easy way."
