Question:
Now that I've found a nice big car boot sale in my vicinity and have seen
for myself that there are speccies available for the purchasing I wondered
if anyone knew what other gems I might find among the dross and chintz. How
often would one come across an Atari ST or Amiga for example? What about an
old Mac (LCII or thereabouts)? And lastly does every car boot sale in the
country have a million and one stalls selling those blasted Sega
Megadrives? They get in the way! You see a joystick and you think "ooh! A
computer!", and then you realise it's just *another* bloody megadrive!
Answer:
Hmmm, don't you think it would be a good idea to set up a list car boot
sales and grade them on their quality and quantity of old computer goods?
Well, the one I went to was in Burscough, Lancashire and it was a Giant Car
Boot Sale. There was one C64, one Speccy +2A and about a gazillion
moggydrives. There was a bunch of amstrad word processors and stuff too.
Not brilliant, but there was at least a Speccy prescence.
The first or second largest car boot in the country is suppost to be
somewhere near Knutsford if I recall. I keep meaning to go but never quite
seem to get round to it (Far better things to do on a Sunday morning, like
sleep). That and the fact I don't exactly know where it is.
